This ball trough jam protector breaks the magnetic circuit that sometimes causes balls to hang up in the trough. It also eliminates the metal-to-metal contact that adds fine scratches to the ball, increasing the amount of time it takes to turn them into rolling sandpaper in your machine. This version is designed for use with Bally-Williams machines from Indiana Jones onwards, including all WPC-S and WPC-95 machines.
It is particularly effective with Judge Dredd and Theatre of Magic, and important if you wish to use chrome steel balls in machines with magnets.
The part is a PETG shim, precision cut to line the floor of the ball trough. With this shim installed, the balls run silent in the trough. The protector also reduces the energy of the ball, reducing the shocks and vibration caused by ball impacts in the trough area.
We made this for our Judge Dredd upgrade kit, where a slightly magnetized ball trough can cause all kinds of problems. But it will solve similar problems in other machines, making it easier to use chrome steel balls in machines with magnets.
Install it by inserting it into the trough through the trough rear access hole, sliding it under the balls.
